Bagan to Inle Lake

So after two fun-filled days in Bagan, we flew to Heho (sounds like Hey Ho!). We left the heavy heat of Bagan and landed in the relative cool of Inle Lake, which is at about 2,000 feet above sea level. 84 degrees. Lovely. It is an hour drive from the airport in Heho to Inle Lake. This time, thankfully, we had fully functioning windows in the back seat. The downside was that, given our dual goals of enjoying the cool air and staying dry, we were forever rolling the windows up and down.

We arrived dry at our hotel to find that we were the only guests there. Sure, it's the low tourist season, but wow. We felt quite special.

Here was the view from our room. A few hundred yards of bucolic pasture leading to the lake, and the low mountains in the distance.

When we went for lunch about an hour after checking in, we had our choice of tables (remember, we were the only guests). However, prominently displayed on one table was a special card reserving the table for Room 110 (our room).

Funnily enough, when we returned for dinner that night, the one other couple to check in that night had actually stolen our reserved table. Every table in the place available and these Japanese jerks take ours.
