Our day two trip to watch the sunset over Bagan was rudely interrupted by a pretty violent wind storm that blotted out not only the sun, but also the other side of the river, and even the riverbank just outside our window. We were in a front room with not much protection from the large plate glass windows that afforded a lovely view of the river in the best of times, but that proved somewhat dangerous during the storm.

Katherine wasn't having any fun at all.

And soon moved to the relative safety of the bathroom floor. The wind was really whipping, and we heard many large crashes outside. I thought there may be a tornado, as the wind had that freight train sound that tornados do.

The results of the 20-30 minute windstorm. Of the six rooms in the riverfront building, three had at least one window blown out. Needless to say, the sunset was ruined, but at least we didn't lose a window.
