While many of the temples did not allow access to the upper levels, if you were lucky, as we were a few times, the caretaker/hawker of tourist junk would produce a key and open up the gate to the stairs. They were usually dark, steep, low, and all ours.


The results of our climbs were usually quite rewarding.


And made me feel like a man.
