The Joys of Packing Out

further update:

looks like the scale they were using is not...how do you say...working. So we're waiting on a new scale to re-weigh all the boxes. We're hoping the scale was radically over-weighing our stuff.

update:

reached our weight limit with most of our clothes, many toys, and kitchen stuff still to be packed. Poor planning on our part.

---------------------

Me: Your boxes are too small for our golf clubs

Mover: These are the only boxes we have.

Me, calling State Transport Office: They don't have boxes big enough for our clubs

STO: Of course not, you can't ship golf clubs in unaccompanied baggage (UAB).

Me: But we shipped our clubs TO the US in UAB.

STO: Yeah, but we can't ship clubs in UAB. Sometimes Posts allow clubs to go in UAB. But they can't.

Me: But we DID ship clubs in UAB

STO: Yeah, but you can't.

Me: But now our clubs are stranded in the US because THEY WERE SHIPPED HERE IN UAB.

STO: Yeah, but we can't ship clubs in UAB.

Me: is that written anywhere?

STO: No, you just can't.

-----------

I know, I know. Golf clubs, whatever. But still.

Departure in T-5 days. But first, a visit from Auntie Sarah and Auntie Maren, arriving tonight at about 11:30 pm.
