The countdown continues...

Whether or not we end up going to Burma, and I hope we get our visas in time because we already laid out quite a bit of cash for the flights and hotels, we definitely are going here on the 19th.

Who knows, maybe if Burma doesn't work out, we'll just go to the beach for 11 days.

The Burmese Embassy says we'll have our visas on Tuesday, so that gives us a one day cushion (we fly to Bangkok on Wednesday). I'm somewhat confident that we'll get them before Wednesday.

Anyway, our plan is to fly through Yangon (Rangoon) to Bagan on Thursday. Then, early next Sunday morning, we fly to Inle Lake, where we will explore the lake and certainly spend some quality time at the Temple of the Jumping Cats . Sure, it's not the Tiger Temple, but trained cats are trained cats, big or small.

That Monday afternoon we will return to Yangon for 36 hours with our friends Walter and Alex, who are posted there. Wednesday the 19th to Railay Beach, then home on Sunday.

Time to join Katherine and Jak in a nap.
