Some Photos of our little weekend trip to Vang Vieng.

Boat Race team practicing at twilight in front of our hotel. The boat races are held at the end of what I guess is called Buddhist Lent. Boat races on the Mekong in Vientiane Wednesday, but first, tomorrow night all good Buddhists go to their local temple and make an offering, which is put in a big boat. The boat is then taken to the river, set ablaze and set afloat. OR, people can do individual little offerings with candles in them and put them on the river. So the Mekong should be quite lit up tomorrow night.

Some kids playing on the bank of the Nam Song river. We went on a 1 day kayak trip which was quite fun. And the scenery was beautiful.
