So at the temple we went to, the monks led the procession around the large buddha statue 3 times, everyone holding an offering of sorts (candles, incense, flowers, etc.) that either go to the buddha, or get put in the river.

After going round the buddha 3 times, everyone heads down to the river to launch their little floating offering, and the monks lit and launched their 'fire boat'. It was a fun thing to take part in. Tomorrow, the boat races (those boats, hopefully, won't be on fire).
