We went to a temple on the Mekong about 5 KM from our house. We joined in the celebration and the traditions that the Lao go through on this day, which I guess is the end of the rainy season, the start of the rice harvest, and the end of the few months time each year that the monks spend much more time in study and meditation (put it all together and call it end of Buddhist Lent, although I'm not sure what Lent really means, even in the christian Lent sense, though I grew up with it).
