The next day, we went to Sekong province, which borders Vietnam, and was a main thoroughfare of the Ho Chi Minh trail. Quite stunning scenery, and the scene of heavy bombardment during the war. During the war, the Vietnamese moved thousands of troops and tons of equipment through there, and we tried to stop it, ultimately unsuccessfully.
